According to annual estimates done by Forbes magazine, the New York Yankees' value increased to $1.306 billion over the past year. The New York Mets came in second at $824 million and the Boston Red Sox at $816 million. The magazine also revealed yesterday that there was a a big difference between the Los Angeles Dodgers ($694 million) and Chicago Cubs ($642 million). The three teams with the lowest values were Florida ($256 million), Tampa ($290 million) and Pittsburgh ($292 million). To continue the increase in revenues, both the Yankees and Mets plan on moving to the new ballparks in 2009.

This article reflects pure human interest. Anyone in America who is a die hard Yankees, Mets or Red Sox fan would love to hear that their favorite team's revenue is increasing. An increase in value and new ballpark plans for next year, could mean more games and better facilities fans will enjoy. (TheStar, 4/17/08)
