Police in Merritt B.C. are on the look out for the 40 year old father, Allan Dwayne Schoenborn, who is suspected of slain his three children. The father has a history of violence. In the past week he has been charged with three different charges: driving illegally, public intoxication, and causing a scene by his children's school three days before he supposedly killed them. The children were left with their father for merely an hour while their mother was out shopping.
This story was interesting to me because it has timeliness, it is a bit of an oddity. It an unfortunate that something like this happens, but at least there are people out there who care enough to bring light to this devastating situation. (Toronto Star, 4-7-08).
I thought that one of the most interesting stories of the week was the one that talked about how the Olympic flame has been doused five times since the beginning of the Olympics. I think that it is sad that something like this has to happen; especially since it is an important part of our world's history. This story has timeliness, oddity, and human interest (Toronto Star, 4-8-08).

Thomas Quinton Shade, 25, was charged Wednesday, with second degree murder after driving over a 15 year old girl in an alley and speeding away (Toronto Star, 4-9-08).
