New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer has resigned after his prostitution scandal. The 48-year-old married man with three teenage daughters faced allegations on Monday that Spitzer spent thousands of dollars on a call girl named Kristen at a Washington hotel the night before Valentine's Day. Spitzer is the first New York governor to quit under scandal in the state's recent history. Spitzer will be replace by Lt. Gov. David Paterson, who is legally blind, will become the first black governor.

Almost one in four US teenage girls have a sexually transmitted disease claims a recent federal study. Of the girls in the study, only half admitted to being sexually active. Among the girls admitting to sexual activity 40 percent had an STD. Researchers blame abstinence-only programs as the reason why this is such a problem.
