Amanda O'Rourke - 2/14/08

After winning majority of the votes in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia, Barack Obama is now in the lead for becoming the Democratic candidate. Obama won 60% of the votes in Maryland, 64% in Virginia and75% in the District of Columbia. Hillary Clinton has had recent trouble with her campaign from the demotion of her campaign manager, Patti Solis Doyle, and also the resignation of her deputy campaign manager, Mike Henry. John McCain won majority of the Republican votes over the former governor of Arkansas, Mike Huckabee, which made it very clear that McCain was the leader for the Republican race.

This story is important because of its timeliness. With the Democratic race being so close the results for these states were very important. This story also has prominence because it is and issue of great importance to everyone in the country. Just like the results of super Tuesday, the results were a must know for America seeing as these victories were very important for Barack Obama.

The story I found most interesting took place in Zurich. Four 19th century pieces of art were stole from a private museum in broad daylight. The three men that stole the art tossed the pieces into the back of a van and sped away. The paintings that were stolen were a Cezanne, a Degas, a van Gogh, and a Monet. Together they hold the value of an estimated $163 million. These were not the most expensive pieces in the entire collection but they were on display in the same room.
