With 24 states voting in the primary presidential election on “Super Tuesday”, now that it is over the results are in. For the democrats Barack Obama won more states, but it was Hillary Clinton that won more delegates by being favored in the larger states. Hillary Clinton ended the day with a total of 299 delegates and Barack Obama was not far behind with 225 delegates. The republican winner was John McCain who is now has a total of 383 delegates. This is a good example of the biggest story of the week because it follows multiple elements of news. Timeliness, seeing as it just happened this past Tuesday, and impact, because the results of the election will be something that effects everyone in the United States, are just two elements that apply. My personal favorite story of the week was the New York Giants winning against the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl this past Sunday. When starting the season off rough (0-2) it was nice to see the underdog beat the New England Patriots who until Sunday night had a perfect season of 18-0.
