This story has most all of the elements that we want to see in news. It has timeliness, seeing that the primary election was this Tuesday. It most definitely has relevance. As an American I know that this presidential election is very important, and although our next vote will be in November, the process has undoubtedly started. Being in New York, we have proximity, seeing that Hilary Clinton was once Mayor. I feel that there is more human interest in this story then
most, as much as we don't want to see the "human" side of politics, or that shows us "weakness" it shows the commitment that she must have to this campaign, and that makes me feel that she is not giving up, ever. The impact from this story will absolutely determine how people vote, along with other stories like this that will come up. And of course, service is a huge factor here. Without news like this, we can't make a fully educated decision about who we vote for and why we vote for them.
In my opinion, the biggest story of the week has been the New York Giants winning the Superbowl on Sunday. With the impact it's had on everyone here on the East Coast, I would have never guessed it possible for the Giants to beat the Patriots. In the close, nail-biting game of 17-14, Eli Manning, the Giants MVP, threw the last two touchdowns in the 4th quarter and won the game for the Giants, New York, and America. Being in New York as this happened, I was in the middle of Mayhem! The proximity and human impact gave everyone a big healthy jolt of hope and crazy. The drama of the whole game made it impossible to tear your eyes away, and with a spread like that, no one could blame you.
